I got into HR by doing admin work for a major retailer. It involved a lot of the hiring processes and other minor HR tasks. I was able to get a temp job in an HR office with the admin experience which gave me more hands on experience. I am currently the HR Rep at a non-profit which is giving me loads of experience.
